Restaurant Review : Best of Marathi cuisine at Suryawanshi- Now at Sarjapur Road , Bangalore | India
The wait for Authentic Marathi Cuisine at Sarjapur Road is finally over.
The undisputed Brewery capital of Bangalore , Sarjapur Road is also becoming the culinary hub of East Bangalore with opening of lot of Food & Beverage establishments in the area.
Recently, the Suryavanshi , known for its authentic marathi food opened their third restaurant (after Whitefield and Indira Nagar) on the Sarjapur main road.
Besides the Malwani and Kolhapuri cuisine, their menu offers great range of delicious, finger licking Maharastrian and Mumbai fast food dishes like Vada Pav, Misal Pav, Sabudana Vada, Kande Pohe, Kheema Pav and more.
The food from Maharashtra , is broadly known for its Kolhapuri and Malwani specialities. The authentic white and red mutton curries as well as its traditional green chilly chutney are part of the Kolhapur cuisine. The Konkan belt , on the other hand , has dishes cooked generously with coconut milk, cashew nuts, rice and mangoes as part of the Malvani cuisine. Kokum is another ingredient that is typical to most of the Maharashtrian preparations where it replaces tamarind. One will find the fusion between the quintessential Maharashtrian style cooking and Mughlai flavours in the Aurangabad belt.
My Recommendations.
Though the entire looks very promising , here is my list of must try here. Malvani Mutton Handi , Kharda Prawns , Chatpata Mutton among mains , Tambada Rassa and Pandhara Rassa for the soups ,Solkadi and kokum juice for the drinks , Pomfret and Surmai for the starters and Amrakhand for the desserts.
