Quattro Ristorante - best of Mexican and Italian vegetarian fusion food -

Already a big name in the vegetarian culinary scene in Mumbai and Hyderabad in the last decade, Quattro Ristorante has now emerged as an international brand known for its innovative take on popular Mexican and Italian food. The Bangalore outlet is strategically situated at the Residency Road, in the heart of the city and has very appealing ambiance and interiors.

The menu curated by the chefs here, has an vivid element of molecular gastronomy and liquid nitrogen in their food and beverages, something very signature to the brand. To start with, we ordered appetising Broccoli and cheese soup, along with set of Mexican and Italian condiments. This was followed by baked crispy spiced corn olive Filo parcels and the delicious Stuffed mushroom baked to perfection and taste. Their 12 inches thin crust wood fired baked pizzas with choice of two sauces, namely classic and spicy, are worth ordering too.

Based on the owner’s recommendation, we also tried their flavourful Spinach Riso with vegetable in paprika sauce. They also have two other risottos- vegetable and funghi, in the menu. Another best seller, we tried, was their Mexican dish, Chimichanga Dos Quesos, a cheese and spinach laden fried tortilla dish, stuffed with vegetable and Mexican rice, a complete meal in itself for many like me. With lot of great options in menu, I am sure that the burrito, quesadilla and Enchiladas lovers will definitely become fan of this place. Since we were quite full , we ended our meal with a deconstructed Tres Leches.

During my visit, I had an opportunity of meeting Pramod, the Bangalore outlet owner and a first time food entrepreneur, who told me how he has been a big fan of Quattro since his Mumbai visit days and how he fulfilled his dream of bring this brand to the city.

In tune with Quattro’s tradition of keeping up with contemporary food technology, our entire experience has been a delightful melange of flavours and elements, with some hits and some misses. I am glad Bangalore is gradually welcoming more options in vegetarian in cuisines that are traditionally known for its meat fare. This place has great potential to be part of vegetarianism wave.
