BUONE NOTIZIE !!
Good News as we say in english for Italian food lovers and connoisseurs !!.
Aloro, the specialty Italian cuisine restaurant at premium hotel chain, Crowne Plaza Bengaluru Electronics City is hosting a Milanese Food festival for its esteemed guests and Italian food aficionados these days.
Situated at the lobby level, the ambiance of this place has been pleasantly inspired by the ancient settlements of alluring and charming country of Italy. The Pizzeria counter with wood fire oven further adds to the rustic charm of the whole place.
During my tete-a-tete with restaurant manager, Mr.Pradeep S,  I was told that the regular menu offers the guest a selection of choices from home-produced pastas, freshly cooked antipasti (starters) and a wide array of excellent meats and seafood dishes from the region. The wood fired authentic thin crust pizzas are among the popular choice with the patrons.
The restaurant also boasts a finest medley of Italian and imported cheese, wines and Grappa that will rejuvenate your palate and tastes buds for elegant food experience.
The Italian Chef Mrunal Uday Dhamaskar told me that the Milanese food extravaganza is being held here to celebrate the authentic food from Milan and the other northern region that have a influence of Italian and French.
Thus it is strikingly different from the central and southern Italian cuisine that has influence of Austria and neighbouring countries and the Mediterranean food.
 Â
The special menu for the promotion has been carefully crafted to promote the elegant dishes from the region. The choices of soups include country style beef soup, Zuppa de Sciqol, and traditional soup made with leeks and Swiss chard called Zuppa di porri e bietole.
The select antipasti’s like must try Taleggio Dip, a signature dish by Chef and the awesome Affettati Misti, the cold Bresaola & salami Milano slices are absolute delight.
The list also has some irresistible range of pastas and risottos. My favorites here were the classic Risotto Milanese con Gamberi alla griglia with grilled tiger prawns and the Gnocchi alla fruiti di mare home made pasta with coarse tomato sauce cooked with seafood assortment.
Among the mains I would recommend the  Piccata di Pollo , a bread crumb, herb & cheese crusted chicken served delicious accompaniments.
The others on the menu are wood fire pizzas ranging between INR 500 to INR 650.
The selection includes Pizza con Taleggio ,  topped with taleggio & mozzarella Cheese ; Pizza Cocktail di Gamberi , a Prawns cocktail pizza made with tomato, prawns & rocket leaves and the Pizza alla Bresaola , topped pizza with salted , air dried Bressola ham.
Â
The desserts served during the festivals include Panettone , a milano christmas special dessert ; Charlotte alla Milanese , an itlalian apple pudding ; home made gelatos and Chef special Popular Milanese dessert made with chocolate, milk, coffee called Barbajada mousse.
The show stopper of the evening was undoubtedly the Cotoletta alla Milanese.Delicious to the core,It is classic Milanese style breaded Veal chop served with Saffron aioli and potato crisp.
The Cost for 2 persons at Aloro would be around INR 3500-4000 for a 3 course authentic meal.
Prior reservation is recommended.
