Under the aegis of Chef Dhawal Ajmera, Welcom Hotel Bengaluru has always been at the forefront in promoting Home chefs from the regional cuisines. Continuing this tradition , they are hosting BOHRI SHAHI DAWAT from 22 Nov – 1 Dec at JACARANDA CAFE.
This feast has been curated by the proponent of Bohri Cuisine , Rehana , a mumbaikar now settled in Bengaluru.
She runs a home dining experience called BOHRI THAL , where she serves authentic food In a traditional way to the guests.
The Dawoodi Bohri community believes in eating together in a thaal as it is considered to be a symbol of unity, equality and sharing. Also In a traditional bohri meal , the dessert first served followed by a starter.

This was my second Bohri food experience and I’m in love with this cuisine thanks to Rehana , Arpitha and Chef Dhawal.
About Rehana
She is a hard core Mumbaikar and brought up in Central Mumbai of Bohri Maholla in a joint family. She first learnt the basics of cooking from her mother and grand mother and subsequently refined her cuisine expertise from her Mother in law. Her love for cooking restarted when her kids grew up and she had time on her hands. The urge to showcase Bohri cuisine to the world became so intense she decided to open up a home dining experience called the Bohri thal where she serves her unique cuisine and traditions to the visiting guests with love and care. The food served is authentic as it is like home cooked food. The response to her Bohri thaal has been really well received by the Bangaloreans.
