House of Commons – Now at HSR , Bangalore
“The House of Commons in HSR Layout , Bangalore, is fabulous place to socialise in British Pub style ambiance with some amazing drinks and food menu„
Located on the inter-junction of the Hosur Sarjapur Road, the HSR is the latest foodies destination in the City with plenty of good eateries and specialty restaurants. It caters well for the residents in and around HSR , Sarjapur road and Bellandur who would not prefer going to Koramangla and Indiranagar specially on weekdays.
Inspired by the British era, The House of Commons (HOC) is one the most popular gastropub among the foodie populace in this side of Bangalore. Opened last year , it is popular during evenings with all the essentials for amazing time with friends and loved ones. It is a not mere drinking place, but it is great venue to socialise , network and bond over food and drinks. This is the third outlet in Bangalore , after Brigade road and Koramangala , in that order. The fourth one is most probably coming up at Indiranagar as per unconfirmed sources.
The ambiance is cosy, casual and comforting .There is extensive use of wood and metal in the interiors with hanging lights that compliments the place and yes , it gets better in the evening , I felt. As we wanted to have serious conversations over food and drinks, we chose the corner table instead of the bustling bar counter.
The HOC dishes were full of flavors with eye appealing presentations. For vegetarian folks , we ordered Crispy Chilly Babycorn and Crispy Corn Chilly Pepper. While like meat eaters like me and few others, binged on the Tandoori Murgh Momos , Murgh Kasturi Kebab and Thai Pepper Garlic Prawns. Everybody loved the starters. Some even gave full marks to them.Coming to the mains, as we were already feeling full ,my friend limited our order to just two dishes namely the Chicken Sizzler and Spaghetti With Aglio Olio. Finally we finished off with some Brownie with ice cream.
Since we were driving back home and as responsible drinker, we chose to be moderate in ordering our drinks, saving the best for the next time. We ordered a Water Melon Cooler cocktail and mocktails from the menu with exotic names like Minty Affair, Fantasy and Water Melon Smoothie
