This place reminds me of American diner that offer a wide range of dishes, from favourite cuisine in a casual atmosphere. Full of great hospitable vibes, well complimented with great ambience and nice music, the place is very inviting. The look and feel is quite aesthetically rustic, quite reminiscent of old colonial era with widespread use of wood, brick and stone as part of ambience.

Situated in poshest suburb of Bangalore at Prestige Shantiniketan Mall in Whitefield, the menu is truly contemporary, as it brings the global flavours to the plate, some with Indian influence. Those who love outdoors, like most of us Bangaloreans do, will get mesmerised by their al fresco seating.

Personally if you ask me, the al fresco evenings are best here, as we went there around 8 , and took the seat next to the beautiful view of Shantiniketan township, with cool breeze surrounding us. Started with a glass of Red Sangaria, and peri peri prawns and juicy grilled chicken drumsticks with paparika sauce from their menu. Since it was little chilly, we also ordered a thick soup, cream of broccoli almonds with chicken, which truthy worth it with great flavours.

Would you believe it , they have Butter Chicken pizza with in pineapple too ? And when we saw it listed, just could not resist ordering it. It was quite good actually, though I will always prefer a classic pizza option any day. They have some interesting mains too, keeping in mind the Indian taste buds, like the Smokey clove Butter Chicken with rice, and Prawn Kadai Masala curry with rice among others. But we decided to go with one that we all love to relish at home too, Dilli Darbar Dal Makhni with rice, which turned out to be a good choice for us eventually. Since the dessert options are very limited, and we were quite full by then, we decided to ski them for another day

Based on our great experience at Groot, I would certainly suggest this place for evening rendezvous with good options of food and beverages, if you are in Whitefield. And if you are lucky, you can enjoy their al fresco experience.
