Located on the Level 5 of the plush 1 MG Lido Mall with picturesque city surroundings , Cafe Felix offers all day dining and bar experience. It has the multi level seating with elegantly designed indoor bistro and roof top bar with a breathtaking view of the Bangalore’s skyline and iconic Ulsoor lake.
“Cafe Felix has bought the exuberance of cafe with the elegance of food back to the heart of the city.

Last monday, I came here to enjoy the Cafe Felix experience with my loved ones. Since the place remains open till 1 past midnight , we arrived around 9.30 pm.
The roof top bar was closed due to ongoing Liquor ban crisis , and we decided to seat ourselves in the lower level indoor dining area , opposite their bar / open counter.
“The interiors look beautiful with sense of elegance , warmth, comfort and exclusiveness.

We began our sojourn with the bowl of Prawn and Raw mango Salad , a healthy prawn salad preparation , that has the nutty flavored Japanese Soba buckwheat flour noodles ,peanuts with Thai chilli dressing. Totally loved it as it had refreshingly rejuvenating tastes.
This was followed by the american favorite, Avocado toast , crushed avocado, goat cheese, tomato salsa served over the sour dough bread. According to a news article, the USA is spending whopping $ 900,000 per month on the variants of this Avocado dish.
Next two on our list were quite interesting salads. The first one was the far-eastern Teriyaki chicken salad , made from the exotic sweet shiitake, bok choi and baby spinach. We found it quite refreshing with lot of greens and nice balance of pan-asian flavors. The chef in me felt that some peanut garnish could have been added to it too.
The other one was the vegetarian, high protein and fiber rich , Quinoa Salad , served with citrus fruits and chickpeas with Mediterranean tastes.Though I am not big fan of quinoa , this one was quite appetizing.
“The Salads here at Cafe Felix are among the must haves here. They are refreshing and flavorful.
After savoring the healthy and tasty salads , we moved on to their Breads section to try some of their burgers, sandwiches and pizzas.
We loved the Spicy Crispy Chicken Burger with thousand island dressing and fries, the Tuna Salad Sandwich with pickled cucumber & green apple in whole wheat bread and also the top bun-less Pulled Baby Lamb Sliders with scamorza cheese and fig mustard. Must try here if you love burgers.
For ardent Pizza lovers like me ,the Goan sausage, cheddar and onion pizza with two halves of vegetarian and non vegetarian toppings was a true delight
On chef’s recommendation, we also tried the Madras Chili Butter Garlic Prawns , the succulent medium sized prawns preparation in butter garlic and madras chilies. For those who may not be aware, these small & round chilies from south India are thin skinned and provide unique flavor to the dish without making it overtly spicy.
Madras Chili Butter Garlic Prawns- Must try dish for all the Seafood lovers ”
Among the array of desserts , we had the Cookie Dough Skillet with vanilla bean ice cream, the Banana Nutella cake, Mixed berry Cheesecake and the Eton Mess, a messy conglomeration of vanilla and raspberry ice cream with hazelnut medicine and passion fruit coulis. Impressive dessert menu indeed for a cafe.
We also tried some of their mocktails and smoothies. The Avocado Chocolate Smoothie and the Red Velvet Shake were simply outstanding in terms of taste, consistency and overall mouth presence , followed by their Dry Fig and Feta smoothie , that was quite soothing too.
The intriguing Guava Jalapeno mocktail, a great adaption from the virgin marry with a jalapeno spicy twist was the pick of the lot. The other one, Fresh Kiwi Mint was comforting as usual.
Let me confess that we did miss their alcoholic drinks and hope to try them once the ongoing Liquor fiasco is over.

To summarize, Cafe Felix is a great addition to Central Business District of Bangalore. Nestled among restaurants in 1 MG Road Mall , it is a perfect diner’s destination for good food and drinks with great city view. I would love come back again perhaps for the breakfasts and their bar offerings. We all loved the Cafe Felix experience.
