Restaurant Review : Eating Love – the vegetarian Pizzeria at Sarjapur Road , Bangalore | India
Pizza is perhaps the best loved Italian food in India. Though it all started with the advent of american pizza giants in India, most of the bigger cities in India are have Italian style pizzerias that serve brick oven and wood fired baked pizzas. A brick oven, is an oven with fireproof brick and are used to for artisanal bread and pizza, unlike in the past when they were used for baking any kind of dishes.Nowadays portable or mobile ovens are available for installations in the restaurants.
Eating Love is a quaint pizzeria that serves vegetarian brick oven pizzas and other dishes.Run by lady chef , who got trained by renowned Italian chef in Pondicherry and her spouse , I was here recently to try their pizza offerings.
The menu is quite interesting and unlike most of the pizzerias in Bangalore , focuses mostly on Italian style of pizzas like the classical Margarita , their one of the signature Cullaccino , spinach enriched La Spinaci among others.
The chef told me that their pizzas are prepared from slow rising organic flour dough baked in a brick oven at temperature of 350 º C. The cheese used by them is mostly prepared in-house or sourced from the small producers and is produced daily.
Apart from the pizzas , the menu also serves varieties pastas , short bread bites like sourdough toast etc along with freshly prepared organic juices and mocktails and special sunday breakfast fare.
